1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using StreakScribe, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the extension.

2. Description of Service

StreakScribe is a Chrome browser extension that:

  • Tracks word counts across supported writing platforms
  • Maintains daily writing streak statistics
  • Provides gamification through achievements and milestones
  • Offers optional premium features for enhanced functionality

3. Free and Premium Tiers

3.1 Free Tier

The free tier includes unlimited word tracking, basic streak tracking, daily goals, 30-day history, 6 core achievements, and 3 streak freezes per month at no cost. The free tier is provided without any obligation and may be used indefinitely.

3.2 Premium Tier

Premium is available through ExtensionPay with the following pricing options: Monthly subscription at $7.99 USD/month, Annual subscription at $49.99 USD/year, or Lifetime access at $99 USD (one-time purchase). Premium features include:

  • 365-day history and statistics
  • Advanced analytics and charts
  • All 87 achievements (3 levels)
  • Custom daily goals (up to 100,000 words)
  • Data export (JSON)
  • Streak freeze protection (12 per month)

4. Payment Terms

Premium purchases are processed through ExtensionPay. We are the seller of record for Premium purchases. All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise stated. Payment is due at the time of purchase.

Subscription Plans: Monthly ($7.99/month) and Annual ($49.99/year) subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through ExtensionPay, and you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Lifetime Access: The Lifetime option ($99) is a one-time purchase that grants permanent access to Premium features for the lifetime of the product.

By purchasing Premium, you represent that you have the legal right to use the payment method you provide and that the billing information you supply is accurate.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on Premium purchases. If you are not satisfied with StreakScribe Premium for any reason, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase.

Subscriptions: Monthly and Annual subscribers may request a refund within 30 days of their initial subscription purchase. Subsequent renewal charges are non-refundable, but you may cancel at any time to prevent future charges.

Lifetime Access: Lifetime purchases are eligible for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

To request a refund, email support@streakscribe.com with your purchase confirmation. Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days and will be credited to the original payment method.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use StreakScribe only for its intended purpose of tracking writing progress
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the extension code
  • Not use the extension for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
  • Not distribute, resell, or share access to Premium features with others
  • Not attempt to circumvent any access controls or security measures
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

7. Intellectual Property

StreakScribe and all associated content, features, functionality, branding, logos, and documentation are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the extension or its content without our prior written consent. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

StreakScribe is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy or completeness of word counts

We do not guarantee that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee compatibility with all writing platforms or browser configurations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or data
  • Business interruption
  • Loss of goodwill
  • Any other intangible losses

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to these terms or your use of StreakScribe shall not exceed the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StreakScribe, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the extension
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your violation of any applicable law

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to StreakScribe at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms of Service
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Conduct harmful to other users or our services
  • At our sole discretion for any other reason

Upon termination, your right to use the extension will immediately cease. All provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of StreakScribe after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you should discontinue use of the extension.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service and any disputes arising from or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in English, and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StreakScribe regarding your use of the extension and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
